How to use the CSV sales dashboard
- Export your sales as a CSV file from your shop, payment provider or spreadsheet (see below).
- Drop the file on the box above. The dashboard detects the date, product, quantity, price, total, channel and order columns.
- Check the columns under "Columns and settings" if something looks off, and pick the date format and currency.
- Switch the range between 7 days, 30 days, 90 days, 12 months or all data. Each range is compared with the period before it.
Your CSV needs at least a date column and either a total / amount column or a unit price column. If quantity and unit price are both present, revenue is calculated per line as quantity × unit price, which keeps product totals correct when one order has several items.
Where to export a sales CSV
Menu names change from time to time, but these are the usual places:
- Shopify: Orders, then Export, and choose the plain CSV file. The dashboard reads
Created at,Lineitem name,Lineitem quantity,Lineitem priceandName(the order number). - WooCommerce: Analytics, then Orders, then Download. The
Date,Product(s),Items soldandNet salescolumns are picked up. - Etsy: Shop Manager, Settings, Options, Download Data, and download the orders or order items CSV for a year.
- Stripe: Payments, then Export. Use
Created date (UTC)as the date andAmountas the total. - Square: Reports, Item Sales, then Export. Date, item, quantity and gross sales are detected.
- Excel or Google Sheets: save or download the sheet as CSV. One row per sale or order line works best.

What the dashboard shows
- Revenue, orders, average order value and units sold, each compared with the previous period of the same length.
- Revenue over time, per day for short ranges and per week or month for long ones.
- Top products by revenue, with a download of revenue for every product.
- Revenue by channel, when your file has a channel, source or marketplace column.
- Latest sales, to check that dates and amounts were read correctly.
Your data stays on your computer
The file is read by JavaScript in your browser and never sent to a server. There is no account and nothing is stored after you close the tab. You can check this by loading the page, switching off your internet connection and then dropping in a file: it still works.
Preparing for a seasonal sale?
Before comparing campaign results, check that orders reach the right system. Use the free Black Friday readiness checklist to record your tests, or follow the ecommerce technical testing guide. Keep test transactions out of your sales comparison.
When a CSV export is no longer enough
Exporting a file every week works for a while. It stops working when several people need the same numbers, when data comes from more than one system, or when you need figures the export doesn't contain, such as margin after shipping and fees.
That is when a small custom dashboard pays off: it pulls data straight from Shopify, Stripe, your database or ERP, refreshes on its own and shows exactly the figures your team uses. You can try a simplified example in our sales dashboard demo, and read how we keep such projects small in internal tool development.
FAQ
Is this CSV sales dashboard free?
Yes. There is no sign-up and no limit on how often you use it.
Is my sales data uploaded anywhere?
No. The file is read by JavaScript in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server, and the data is gone when you close the tab.
Which columns does my CSV need?
A date column and either a total or amount column, or a unit price column. Product, quantity, channel and order ID columns are optional and add more detail. Column names are detected automatically and can be changed by hand.
Why are some rows skipped?
Rows are skipped when the date or the amount can't be read, for example summary rows at the end of an export, refunds without a date, or empty lines. Check the date format setting if many rows are skipped.
Can the dashboard update automatically from my shop?
This free tool works with exported files. A live dashboard that pulls data from Shopify, Stripe, a database or an ERP and refreshes on its own is something TinyBuild builds as a custom project, usually starting with a working demo in about 3 days.
